Delete your data

Mizan, made by Mizan Software, stores all your expense data on your device. There is no Mizan server, so there is nothing to "request deletion" from — you delete the data yourself, instantly, with one of the methods below.

Method 1 — Delete from inside the app

  1. Open Mizan.
  2. Tap the gear icon (top-right of the home screen).
  3. Scroll to the Data section.
  4. Tap Delete all expenses.
  5. Confirm. Every expense, every budget, every category, every recurring transaction, every receipt photo, every account you've created — deleted from the device immediately.

Method 2 — Uninstall the app

  1. Long-press the Mizan icon on your home screen.
  2. Tap Uninstall or drag to the Uninstall area.
  3. Confirm. The entire app sandbox is removed by Android, including all data Mizan stored on your device.

What is deleted

Everything stored locally: expense entries, budgets, categories, recurring transactions, receipt photos, encrypted backup files Mizan generated, all settings.

What is kept

Nothing on Mizan's side — there is no Mizan server, so there is no central copy to keep. If you previously used the optional AI assistant, your prompts may be retained by the provider you configured (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, etc.) per their own privacy policy. To delete that data, contact the provider directly.

Retention period

Zero. Mizan does not retain any data after the deletion methods above. There is no grace period, no soft-delete, no archive.
