Delete your data
Mizan, made by Mizan Software, stores all your expense data on your device. There is no Mizan server, so there is nothing to "request deletion" from. You delete the data yourself, instantly, with one of the methods below.
Method 1: Delete from inside the app
- Open Mizan.
- Tap the gear icon (top-right of the home screen).
- Scroll to the Data section.
- Tap Delete all expenses and confirm to remove every transaction and its receipt photo.
- To remove everything else as well, tap Reset everything and type RESET to confirm. Budgets, categories, accounts, recurring transactions, savings goals, debts, AI providers and keys, and every setting are deleted from the device immediately. A Premium purchase lives with the store, so it survives and can be restored.
Method 2: Uninstall the app
- Long-press the Mizan icon on your home screen.
- Tap Uninstall or drag to the Uninstall area.
- Confirm. The entire app sandbox is removed by Android, including all data Mizan stored on your device.
What is deleted
Everything stored inside the app on this phone: expense, income and transfer entries, budgets, categories, accounts, savings goals, debts, recurring transactions, receipt photos, configured AI providers, and all settings.
Encrypted backup files you saved outside the app (to Google Drive, a USB stick, email, or your Downloads folder) are yours and are not touched by either method. Delete them where you saved them.
What is kept
Nothing on Mizan's side. There is no Mizan server, so there is no central copy to keep. If you previously used the optional AI assistant, your prompts may be retained by the provider you configured (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, etc.) per their own privacy policy. To delete that data, contact the provider directly.
The website is separate from the app. If you sent feedback with an email address or subscribed to updates, we keep those. Unsubscribe from any update email, or write to studio@usemizan.app and we will delete them.
Retention period
Zero for app data. Mizan does not retain any app data after the deletion methods above. There is no grace period, no soft-delete, no archive.
